Bangladesh Fisheries Information Share Home (In brief, BdFISH) is an online platform. For sharing fisheries information, BdFISH is launched by Professor Dr. ABM Mohsin and Shams Muhammad Galib. To build up an easy access database of fisheries information, BdFISH shares fisheries relevant information special reference to Bangladesh through different initiatives. Such as –

Bangladesh is rich with her large numbers of fish and other fisheries fauna and flora, vast areas of open, closed and semi-closed water-bodies and other fisheries resources such as manpower, equipment, institutions, industrious etc. Moreover the environmental condition and geographical location is suitable for fish and other aquatic organism as well as favorable for fisheries and aquaculture. In the circumstance, Fisheries Science plays a vital role for the management and conservation of fisheries resources and development of aquaculture. We strongly believe that sharing fisheries information will prove as an effective strategy in this process. People, interested in sharing fisheries based information, can join BdFISH and can play an important role in its development. All activities of BdFISH are not-for-profit as well as voluntary.

বাংলাদেশ ফিশারীজ ইনফরমেশন শেয়ার হোম, সংক্ষেপে বিডিফিশ (Bangladesh Fisheries Information Share Home, in brief BdFISH) ফিশারীজ বিষয়ক তথ্য শেয়ারের একটি অনলাইন মঞ্চ। বিডিফিশ প্রফেসর ড. এবিএম মহসিন এবং শামস মুহাম্মদ গালিব কর্তৃক যাত্রা শুরু করে। ফিশারীজ বিষয়ক তথ্যকে সহজ প্রাপ্য করার লক্ষে ও উদ্দেশ্যে বিডিফিশ নিম্নোক্ত কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করে আসছে যার সবগুলোই অলাভজনক ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবামূলক। যথা –

বাংলাদেশের রয়েছে অসংখ্য মাছ ও অন্যান্য মৎস্য প্রজাতি, বিশাল এলাকার উন্মুক্ত ও বদ্ধ জলাশয় এবং জনশক্তি ও মাছ সংগ্রহের বিবিধ যন্ত্রপাতির মতো অন্যান্য মৎস্য সম্পদ। মাছ ও অন্যান্য জলজ প্রাণীর জীবনযাপন ও চাষের জন্য এ দেশের পরিবেশের অবস্থা ও ভৌগোলিক অবস্থান অনুকূল ও উপযুক্ত। এ অবস্থায় মৎস্য সম্পদ সংরক্ষণ ও মৎস্য চাষের উন্নয়নে মৎস্যবিজ্ঞান খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে আসছে। আমরা মনে করি মৎস্য তথ্য শেয়ার করা মৎস্যবিজ্ঞান ও এ সেক্টরের উন্নয়নে একটি কার্যকরী কৌশল হিসেবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করতে পারে। ফিশারীজ বিষয়ক তথ্য একে অন্যের সাথে শেয়ার করতে আগ্রহীরা বিডিফিশ-এ যোগ দিয়ে এই কার্যক্রমকে এগিয়ে নিতে উল্লেখযোগ্য ভূমিকা রাখতে পারেন।
